An upgrade to a PLC-based CCS with parallel positioning, deviation alarms, O2 trim, and packaged Burner management.


ICC’s involvement with this project included removing the existing control system and upgrading from an obsolete Honeywell parallel positioning system to a PLC-based CCS with parallel positioning, deviation alarms, O2 trim, and packaged Burner management. Communication to the existing DCS was completed through protocol conversion for analog signals and triggered alarms. Burner tuning was completed on both oil and gas firing to comply with AQMD emissions limits and to optimize the efficiency of the 40klb/hr water tube package boiler.
