Product Focus: Hurst StackMaster
These days, everyone is looking for ways to cut corners without sacrificing quality. Daily cost savings drive innovation as much as the opportunity to offer a long term return on investment.
The Hurst StackMaster is one such product. Available for all horizontal fire-tube boilers, this totally integrated economizer
increases boiler efficiency to deliver ongoing energy savings, while it also decreases parts wear, both of which yield a positive impact on ROI.
Acting as a waste-heat recovery device, the StackMaster captures the flue gases vented from the boiler process ensuring that the heat is used instead of wasted. In so doing, it actually preheats the boiler's makeup water. The result is that overall fuel-to-steam efficiency is increased by 1.5 to 3%, and you save money in two ways: 1) You no longer have to pay for the energy required to preheat the inbound water; 2) Parts wear is reduced. Warm intake water decreases the thermal shock to the system. Thermal shock vibrates the boiler's fixed tube-sheets and fire-tubes (causing extra wear and tear) as they contract from the sudden introduction of relatively cool water
